ALABAMA LAWS & REGULATIONS

What Are The Alabama Hunting Laws and Regulations?

The Alabama Wildlife & Fisheries helps protect a healthy environment for people, fish, and the wildlife. By releasing certain laws and regulations, it helps Americans conserve and enjoy the outdoors and our living treasures. When hunting in Alabama, all hunters must have a valid hunting license along with other required permits or stamps depending on the hunted specie. It is unlawful to hunt on private land without permission, hunt in a powered-on vehicle, and use aircraft to locate game. It also prohibited that hunters disarm at 100 yds from any public road or occupied building. Hunters cannot legally transport, sell, or buy any game out of state-line.

WILD TURKEY

The restoration of the wild turkey in Alabama and across the nation is considered one of America’s greatest conservation success stories. The turkey population in the state was estimated to be as low as 10,000 in the early 1900s. These alarming conditions prompted Alabama’s conservation movement, which led to the restoration, protection, management and research efforts that ultimately helped revive wild turkey numbers to a level that provides excellent hunting opportunities today.  Gobblers Only: One a day; five during combined fall and spring.
